mda logo Welcome to the Midfield Development Association

The Midfield Development Association, Co Mayo, was formed on the 10th December 2007 and quickly set out to ascertain what the local parish needed and to gain a real insight into the perceived needs within our community. These included improving the local school, a defibulator for the area, signage depicting local village place names, street and road lighting, improved roads and many more.

The Association has been very busy during the past two years and has achieved a great amount in this time. One of our first jobs was to compile a survey on parish life, which helped us find out what amenities or needs the local parish wanted in our area and what it was they saw as a priority. This survey was very successful and gave us a great insight into the needs of our area .

From this the Association sat down to explore ideas on how to fundraise and also to explore what funding was available via grants etc and began developing plans to deliver the necessary improvements we hope will give our community a better and brighter future.

It has been a very busy but very successful few years, but our successes could not have been achieved had it not been for the support and help from our local and surrounding communities and we thank you all for that.
